Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her career working alongside prominent directors and actors in film and on television. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. Other Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was brought up in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
